I'm John Berman, in for Anderson Cooper. Welcome to the 360 Podcast. More squawking about Duck Dynasty as a video taped "anti-gay rang" surfaces. Let's get started.

This video is made three years ago, and it's that work A&E is not saying whether they knew about it when they signed him and his family up for what would become America's most watch reality show. No comment from A&E. You'll call A&E suspended Robertson after he equated homosexuality with bestiality in a GQ interview, and suggested that African-Americans were happy in the old Jim Crow South. His suspension really is amping up the culture wars, also amping up the weirdness. A Republican candidate from Illinois 11 congressional district today compare Robertson to civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

Last night, in a statement the family said they are talking with A&E now about Duck Dynasty's future,  saying "We can not imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm."Phil, the family said would never inside or encourage hate.

Now look at those words when you look at this video from 2010, Phil Robertson citing a Bible passage and railing against modern secular society.

Firstly say there is no God, get him out of your mind. Then they bow down to birds, animals and reptiles and each other. And first thing you see come out of them is gross sexual immorality. They are insolent, arrogant, God-hated. They are heartless, they are faithless, they are senseless,  they are ruthless. They invent what they are doing evil.

Phil Robertson's expressing firmly held views that may people do share, but many others find deeply offensive and its network finds at least for the moment problematic. Again, no comment from network about what whether the network knew about this video years ago.

There's plenty to talk about with CNN commentator Mxx Axx David and Ralph, the president of central strategies and founder and chairman of the Faith and Freedom coalition.

Ralph, you say Robertson's suspension is a brazen act of anti-Christian bigotry. How's so?

Well, I think because the reason why he was placed on suspension was because he expressed his Christian faith and his belief on Bible.  I mean, the allegedly offensive passage for which he was placed on suspension with simply a virtual direct quote from the book of first Corinthians and the New Testament. And I think if you read the totality of the interview in GQ, which I have done. I think this is unfair, I think it's a distortion of his true views, he makes abundantly clear that we are called as believers to love everyone, that we are not to judge anyone, that ultimately God is the one who is all of our judge and we are all sinners saved by grace. I thought it was a very up-lifting statement and wow, he certainly would express himself in some words that I would not have used, that's why A&E has reality show build on this family because the home-spun, folks way in which this family expresses their views.

You said it was an up-lifting statement, there's another video came out today of Robertson's from a couple of years ago, well, it again, he is quoting the bible but it's a different verse and he suggests that gay, again, quoting the bible are insolent, arrogant, God haters. They are heartless, faithless, senseless and ruthless. You know, is that expressing the same sentiment you were just mentioning before?

Well, I have to see the full context of the statement in which he said it. You know, this is a snippet of a fuller presentation. But based on my understanding of views of Mr. Robertson and Robertson family, these are people who love God, who believed they shouldn't be judging anybody, that they are called to love everyone, and show stability and respect for everyone even those that they are disagree with. But I think what the broader culture has to do and this is why millions people have risen up in the last 48 hours to defend the Robertson family is what the larger and broader culture have to do is to respect the authenticity and the genuineness of the faith testimony of exxx Christians and faithfully Catholics. And when they say they believe the bible and they quote it, just sanction them, to punish them, to fire them, to mistreat them because all they have done is express that faith. I think he has no place in America.
