CCTV9英语新闻：中国首次深海300米饱和潜水作业成功（在线收听）

It's mission accomplished for Chinese divers who have carried out a successful deep water mission. The team completed a saturation dive to 300 meters underwater after coming out of the diving bell in the South China Sea at 8:14 A-M Sunday.

A second team has begun a similar attempt.

Saturation diving is a technique that allows divers to work at great depths for long period of time, according to the international practice, it’s universally applied when the depth of diving is over 120 meters underwater and time over 1 hour. The mission’s chief inspector directs the process by video.

The diving bell serves to carry the divers under high pressure, and is also their underwater operation base.
