The professor of a contract law class asked one of his better students, "If you were to give someone an orange, how would you go about it?"

The student replied, "Here's an orange."
那学生答:“给你个橘子。”
The professor was outraged. "No! No! Think like a lawyer!"
教授生气了。“不对!不对!要像个律师那样!”
The student then replied, "Okay. I'd tell him, I hereby give and convey to you all and singular, my estate and interests, rights, title, claim, and advantages of and inside orange, together with all its rind, juice, pulp, and seeds, and all rights and advantages with full power to bite, cut, freeze and otherwise eat, the same, or give the same way with and without the pulp, juice, rind and seeds, anything herein before or hereinafter or in any deed, or deeds, instruments of whatever nature or kind whatsoever to the contrary in anywise notwithstanding..."
那学生又答:“好吧。我会对他说,‘我将我的财产这只橘子的外皮、汁液、果肉和种子,连同它的收益及所有权,以及咬、切、冻或其他吃这只橘子的全权赠予你。无论这只橘子是否带有外皮、汁液、果肉及种子,任何在此之前或之后的行为,不论以何种方式使用天然或非天然的工具,尽管……’”
重点讲解:
1. be to do sth.
表示按计划或安排要做的事;将要做的事情;
eg. Then he received a phone call that was to change his life.

2. go about

eg. I want him back, but I just don't know how to go about it.

3. to the contrary

eg. That does not automatically mean, however, that the money supply has been curbed, and there is considerable evidence to the contrary.

eg. He insisted on going to the football match, notwithstanding his doctor's advice to the contrary.
