Mr. Jones undressed for the doctor's examination.
琼斯先生脱了衣服让医生检查。
"I am going to press on various parts of your body," said the doctor. "Tell me if it hurts or not."
“我会按压你的各个部位,”医生说,“哪里疼就告诉我。”
The doctor prodded until he found a sensitive spot.
医生按了一遍,最后找到一处易痛部位。
"How long has it hurt you there?" inquired the doctor.
“这里疼了多久了?”医生问道。
"Approximately three months, but it really doesn't hurt much."
“大概有3个月了吧,不过真是疼得不厉害。”
"According to the X rays, lab reports, and my examination I think we'll have to operate."
“根据X光和实验室报告,还有我的检查,我认为你该做手术。”
"Oh, no!" moaned Mr. Jones.
“天哪,不要吧。”琼斯先生呻吟着说。
"There's nothing to worry about," declared the doctor. "With our modern anesthetics and know-how, it won't hurt a bit."
“没什么好担心的,”医生说,“我们有最先进的麻醉术和手术技能,你一点儿都不会感觉到疼的。”
"How much will the operation cost?"
“这个手术要多少钱?”
"With the hospitalization and my fee, about 3,000 dollars."

Mr. Jones groaned, "Now, that really hurts!"
