2. A Syrian official says more than 600 people have been evacuated from the besieged city of Homs. The evaluations happened under a 3 day truce between the Syrian government and rebel forces. Despite the truce some civilians were met with gunfire as they tried to flee.

 

 

 

3. The host-country won its first gold medal of the Sochi Olympics in team figure skating. Earlier in the day,  Russia won a bronze medal in women’s 3000-meter speed skating.
