这首歌是艾尔顿强为纪念黛安娜王妃的去世，以原来为玛丽莲?梦露所作的Candle In the Wind改写歌词而成，传唱经久，又名《再见,英格兰玫瑰》。这首歌在一九九七年九月发行时，一周内就卖出约三百五十万张，打破历年单曲单周销售的记录（当时记录保持者是惠妮?休斯顿在一九九二年的<我会永远爱你>"I'll Always Love You"，在一周内卖了六十三万二千张）
英国歌手及作曲家艾尔顿约翰(Elton John)爵士，屹立澈地乐坛二十多年，最后以一首悼念戴安娜王她的《风中之烛》风靡全球。为20世纪时的国际知名作曲家，被喻为"捷克民族第一们大作曲家"，其代表作包括歌剧《买卖新娘》、交响诗《我的祖国》等。
