　　Immediately after the match, Sir Alex Ferguson spoke to the supporters in what would normally be his end of season speech, with this one being his end of career speech. Here is what the departing manager said:

　　“I’ve got absolutely no script in my mind, I’m just going to ramble on and hope I get to the core of what this football club’s meant to be.
