 Large crowds have been attending Anzac dawn services across the country. It's 99 years since the Australian and New Zealand troops stormed the beaches of Gallipoli. In Canberra, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined thousands of people at the dawn service at the National War Memorial. 

 
Labour says the Federal government still has a lot of questions to answer despite releasing details of its climate change policy. The government will pay the country's top polluters 2.5 billion dollars to cut their emissions. The companies will have to cap their emissions. But it's unclear at this stage what penalties, if any, will apply if they exceed it. 
 
Police in South Australia will retrieve the body of a rock-climber this morning who fell to his death in the Flinders Ranges. The man was rock-climbing with a group at a popular location when he fell about 50 meters off a cliff and onto a ledge. 
 
At guard at a hospital in the Afghan capital Kabul had shot dead three American medical staff. The hospital is run by a US charity and it specializes in children's minister and maternal health. A fourth American and an Afghan staff member were wounded in the attack. 
 
Russia has ordered new military exercises on its border with Ukraine. This is in response to Ukraine's attack on checkpoints in the country's east that had killed five pro-Russian militants. Ukraine's acting president has demanded that Russia pulls back its troops from that border.
