Amazing Brazilian Food(在线收听) |
Amazing Brazilian Food Brazil offers a cuisine rich in regional variety. The extraordinary food is a 1)fusion of the cooking heritage of four main groups of people: the native Indians, the Portuguese colonists, the descendants of African slaves and immigrants from Spain and Italy. The Amazonians love jambo leaves, which they use to flavour stews and soups. Local cafes around the markets serve up delicious 2)chowder from early morning until mid afternoon. Jambo leaves are seasonal and have a very distinctive flavour, which isn’t to everyone’s taste. Wow! They’ve got a kind of mildest taste, really kind of 3)zesty, my tongue is 4)tingling. It’s a cross between a 5)stinging 6)nettle and a lime! It is so incredible! But this, this is the 7)pièce de rèsistance, the house specialty, and it’s 8)prawns and it’s cooked in pumpkin with a mango sauce. So let’s have a try...smells awesome! That is absolutely gorgeous: really creamy; the mango adds this delicious sweetness. Absolutely fantastic! And with this house cocktail, aren’t I a lucky girl? The national cocktail here of Brazil is a Caipirinha, it’s made with cachaça which is like Brazilian rum. And these guys not only drink it at lunch and dinner but, in fact, any time or any place. Oh, thank you. That is so divine, I can’t tell you! It’s incredibly simple to make: you take fresh lime juice, a 9)pinch of sugar, loads of cachaça shake it over ice and that’s it. And it’s absolutely heaven made!
