歌手：Billy Joe Thomas来自俄克拉荷马，后来在德州的休斯顿长大。高中时代，他就参加了一支合唱团，并且推出过一张单曲，在当地小有名气，因此合唱团被另外一家公司网罗，录制他们的首张专辑。在专辑中，托马斯为自己的父亲演唱了一首乡村歌坛传奇人物韩克威廉斯（Hank Williams）的经典「I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry」。当地某电台的一位DJ听到了，非常欣赏，予以强力放送，使得唱片公司决定把它发行单曲。唱片推出后，狄昂华韦克的公司听到了，认为托马斯非常有潜力，因此买下版权，作全美国的发行，结果在1966年春天获得全美第八名的好成绩，后来他又在1969年唱红了「Hooked on a Feeling」。
