 1. Republican lawmakers say Congress should be told the deal to swap five high-level Afghan detainees at Guantanamo for Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl. The White House says Congress wasn't told because they had to act quickly in order to save Bergdahl whose safety and health were in jeopardy. 

 
2. Thailand's ruling junta deployed thousands of security forces on the streets of Bangkok Sunday to thwart another round of small-scale protests denouncing last month's military coup. Hundreds demonstrators came out and several were detained, but there was no violence. 
 
3. Police say three men had confessed to the gang-rape and slaying of two teenage girls Sunday. The girls were found hanging from a tree in northern India , recasting light on the rampant sexual violence in the country. 
 
4. And in Vienna, Europe hosts its largest event for AIDS research with its 20th annual Light Ball. Celebrities Rickie Martin, Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst and former US president Bill Clinton participated in the extravagant fundraiser event.
