A broad region of low pressure is triggering widespread showers and thunderstorms about Western Australia. Moist southerly winds pushing up the east coast are generating the odd thundery shower about northeast New South Wales and southeast Queensland. Looking around the country now:
And in Queensland, there'll be isolated showers along the southern coastal fringe and some southeasterly winds along the coast. For New South Wales, isolated light showers about the northeast, generally dry but mild elsewhere. In Victoria, generally dry and mostly sunny throughout, light north northerly winds statewide. For Tasmania, gusty north northwesterly winds throughout with some light isolated showers in the north. In South Australia, gusty winds over the west coast, hot in the northwest and warm in the east. For Western Australia, some heavy showers and thunderstorms about the interior, gusty southeasterly winds about the south. And for the Northern Territory, light isolated showers about the far north, hot in the west with stable southeasterly winds.
Looking ahead to tomorrow's forecast for the capital cities:
Mostly sunny in Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide. A sunny day in Sydney. Fogs and sunny in Canberra. A possible shower in Hobart. Clearing showers in Darwin. And a possible thunderstorm in Perth.
