A multi-million-dollar class action against the Federal Government's suspension of the live cattle export India, to Indonesia in 2011 has been launched in the Federal Court. The then Labour government took the action after Four Corners showed annoying footage of animal cruelty in Indonesian abattoirs. The case's open to anyone who'd suffered losses from that decision. A major part of it is getting back the money that we lost because of that decision; another major part is making sure it doesn't ever happen again.
One of the key claims is in that matter.
Now investigation is under way after police shot and critically injured a man in Sydney's southwest overnight. The man was shot in the chest at I. after a short pursuit. Police say the man confronted officers with a baseball bat and several measures including a taser failed to subdue him.
A shoggar has caused a security scare in Britain when he ran into Prime Minister David Cameron. The man was arrested after he appeared to collide with Mr. Cameron as he left a civic court in Leeds. Mr. Cameron was quickly driven away from the scene. Police are now reviewing the incident.
And police are still trying to piece together why a Sydney girl went missing for more than two days. Eleven-year-old Michelle Levy is back with her relieved parents after being found staying with a stranger yesterday. The girl disappeared from her North Bomday home on Saturday night, sparking a massive search in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. |
