A fatal shooting of an 18-year-old African-American by an off-duty police officer triggered a late night protest in St.Louis. The city's police chief says the 18-year-old fired at the officer during a chase while others say the young man was not armed. 5 major U.S. airports will soon begin an added layer of screening, hoping to catch any travelers from Ebola-ravaged countries who may be carrying the disease. The new screening will start Saturday at New York's JFK International Airport, then expand to Washington Dulles as well as international airports in Atlanta, Chicago, and Newark, New Jersey.
U.S.-led airstrikes near the Syrian border town of Cobani have been helping Kurdish fighters keep the town out of the hands of the Islamic State group. Meanwhile, protesters who are calling on Turkey to take military action against the militants clashed with police in Istanbul.
