Meanwhile, two drones have been dispatched to gather clearer images of villages in the quake-hit areas. Initial assessments had found over 2,600 houses seriously damaged during the quake. The houses are being checked one by one to ensure none pose a threat to residents.

The local government has sent tents, quilts and food to affected area... with thicker tents on the way to fend off the cold.

Field kitchens have also arrived at the temporary shelters, offering people hot meals.
