In eastern Ukraine heavy tanks believed to be operated by pro-Russian rebels were spotted near Donetsk. Ukrainian officials accused Russia of sending tanks and other heavy weapons into the pro-Russian areas. Russia denies it is fuelling the rebellion.
3. Winter like snowfall buries the upper Midwest, where up to 16 feet inches snow is expected over the twin cities by Tuesday. High temperatures should reach the upper 20s.
