1981年，当时著名的爱尔兰摇滚乐队Boomtown Rats有一部Mondo Bongo的音乐专辑，就是取材自哥伦比亚奔放和狂野的音乐的，也以Mondo Bongo来命名。该乐队于1985年解散。
