　　My normal glasses really aren't all that different.

　　我平时用的眼镜其实也没有多大不同

　　There are so many remarkable things going on here at this campus,

　　这所学校里发生了很多了不起的事情

　　but if Melinda and I had to put into one word what we love most about Stanford,

　　如果要我和梅琳达用一个词来总结对斯坦福的热爱

　　it's the optimism.

　　我们会说是"乐观"

　　There's an infectious feeling here

　　这里有着浓郁的氛围

　　that innovation can solve almost every problem.

　　让人觉得创新能够解决所有问题

　　That's the belief that drove me in 1975

　　也正是这种信念让我在1975年

　　to leave a college in the suburbs of Boston and

　　离开波士顿郊外的那所大学

　　go on an endless leave of absence.

　　从此一去不返

　　I believed that the magic of computers and software

　　我相信神奇的计算机和软件能够

　　would empower people everywhere

　　让全世界所有人获得力量

　　and make the world much, much better.
