Let’s take a look at the satellite. A trough and embedded low lingering over central and southern WA is triggering thundery showers. A broad region of low pressure over northern WA and the Northern Territory is also triggering isolated thunderstorms. A trough over northern Queensland is maintaining the odd isolated thunderstorm. Looking around the country now, and in Queensland, scattered showers and storms in the east and north. Hot, sunny and dry in the southwest.
The New South Wales, cloudy with some light showers in the east. Sunny and dry west of the ranges.
In Victoria, clearing cloud and light showers in the east. Sunny and dry elsewhere. Warm in the north.
Westerly winds for Tasmania. Gusty in the east with rain and cloud throughout.
Warm and sunny throughout South Australia with light winds. Some cloud and storms in the far northwest.
For Western Australia, hot and thundery showers in the north and east. Isolated showers and storms in the south.
And it’s another hot day in the Top End with hot showers and storms in the west and north, staying dry in much of the east of the territory.
Looking ahead now to tomorrow’s forecast for the capital cities. Cloudy in Brisbane, sunny in Sydney and Canberra. Light winds and sunny in Melbourne. Partly cloudy in Hobart. Mostly sunny in Adelaide with a chance of a storm. Mostly sunny in Perth, and showers and storms for Darwin. |
