Before clashes between ethnic Kurdish and Islamic State Group militants began in September, Kobani was home to 50,000 residents. Now an estimated 2,000 people still live here, including many children.
3. A team of researchers at MIT has created a 70-pound cheetah robot that can run and jump on its power. Developers hope the mechanics behind battery powered animal will help in creation of the new prosthetics and other technologies.
4. In a change-up from the normal Santa holiday snap, Children in Jenks got a chance to take pictures with Santa at the Oklahoma aquarium over the weekend. The scuba diving Santa and his helpers stole the show in the Coral Reef Exhibit – a 60,000 gallon saltwater tank. |
