A man and his son were riding in the car.

His son looked out the window and said, "Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no..."

"look out the window"有两个意思：①看窗外；②把头伸出窗外看。在本句中的含义是“把头伸出窗外看”因为头必须伸出窗外，才能看到方向灯。方向灯总是一亮一灭的, 所以孩子就以为方向灯忽好忽坏。
