A judge has tossed out of the convictions of nine South Carolina black men who integrated a whites only lunch counter at the peak of the civil rights movement. The nine men known as the Friendship Nine were convicted of trespassing and protesting. Officials say human body parts were discovered on a Swampscott beach in Massachusetts on Wednesday. Someone out for a walk reportedly found the body parts and alerted police. Medical examiners will work to determine the identity.
Fans of beloved Chicago Cubs player Ernie Banks paid their respects as a statue was on display in Daley Plaza.Fans and politicians alike stopped by downtown Chicago to take photos and pose with the statue. The 83-year-old Banks died Friday of heart attack.
