1. Freed hostage Jill Carroll is one step closer to returning home. The freelance journalist is expected to land at Logan International Airport in Boston late tomorrow morning. Carroll was snatched off a street in Baghdad in January. She was released by her captors Thursday.

2. Anti-war protesters are following Condoleezza Rice as she travels around England. The crowd shouted as the secretary of state met with Muslim leaders. Rice later told reporters that, to a certain extent, the protesters made her point that "democracy is the only system that allows people to be heard and to be heard peacefully".

3. Thousands of demonstrators also took to the streets of New York. The massive group marched across the Brooklyn Bridge to protest a national immigration reform bill.
