3. She conquered the elements in Alaska, but Susan Butcher lost her fight with cancer. The four-time Iditarod champ died after a long battle with leukemia. In the late 1980s, Butcher dominated the 1,100-mile dog-sled race from Anchorage to Nome.

4. One hall is just not enough for Egyptian mummies. The second hall dedicated to bodies and bones centuries ago is now open at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. This collection was found in the famed Valley of the Kings and includes eleven warrior pharaohs.
