A volunteer sheriff's deputy in Tulsa County, Oklahoma is charged with second degree manslaughter after a suspect was shot and killed this month. Authorities say Robert Bates shot the man after mistaking his handgun for his stun gun.

 

4 former security guards who worked in Iraq are sentenced to prison for shooting dead more than a dozen Iraqi civilians in 2007. One man got life in prison, the others got 30 years each. The former Blackwater employees claimed they fired in self defense.

 

A young couple and their baby are dead after a concrete slab from a construction on an overpass fell on their pickup truck in Washington State on Monday. The accident happened about 30 miles east of Seattle.

 

And an Alaska Airlines plane heading to Los Angeles quickly returned to Seatle after their pilot realized that an airport worker was in a cargo hold. The man had apparently fallen asleep there.
