1. A penitent Arnold Schwarzenegger is apologizing for comments he made about Cubans and Puerto Ricans. The Californian governor called the acnicities very hot because of a combination of what he calls black blood and Latino blood. “If I would hear this kind of comments in my house, by my kids, I would be upset.”
2. A female US Air Force officer who went missing earlier this week in Kyrgyzstan has reappeared, reportedly saying she had been kidnapped. Her husband says he just wants her home. “I just want to get her back in the United States, which can be safe and then you will figure out from there.”
3. Tearful reunions at the top of a Siberian goldmine where these men managed to escape an underground blaze that has already claimed more than a dozen lives. Specialized rescue teams were sent into the mine to search for more of the missing.
4. And the City of New York will open a visitor center at Ground Zero this week after the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. A collection will feature photographs of personal items found in the rubble. A much larger museum is slated to open in 2009.
