1. Hawaii was hit hard early Sunday morning with a massive earthquake and several aftershocks. Preliminary measurement showed the quake at a magnitude of 6.5. A town on the west coast of the Big Island was the hardest hit. Power was out across the state as a result. There are unconfirmed reports of injuries.
2. The US continues its pressure on North Korea to stop work on a nuclear weapons program. US Ambassador John Bolton says China should respond by halting all food and energy aids to North Korea.
3. Two leading Republican senators called Sunday for a new strategy in Iraq, saying the situation is getting worse. This comes following a weekend of increased sectarian violence north of Baghdad. A marine and 4 US soldiers died, making this month one of the deadliest for American forces since the 2003 invasion.
4. A Ukrainian baker presented his young bride with an unusual gift - a wedding dress made out of pastries. The crafty groom spent two months designing and baking the dress for his future bride, which was made of 2,000 cream-filled pastries
