China National Nuclear Power is the second Chinese nuclear giant listed on the stock market. China Guangdong Nuclear Power, the largest nuclear company in China, filed for a 2 billion US dollar IPO in the Hong Kong market last year.

The two IPOs in the nuclear sector is an encouraging industry development for the world's second largest economy. China became cautious about the approval of new nuclear programs after Japan's Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011.

But authorities revealed China is to start building 8 nuclear power units this year. China aims to raise its total nuclear capacity to 58 gigawatts by the end of 2020 from 21 gigawatts currently. In the meantime, China is stepping up its corporation with overseas companies, involving more than 20 countries.
