Lesson 49 Window-shopping is free Narrator: Mother and Sue are looking at a lovely window-display. There are lots of nice things in the shop-window. Mother: How much is that blouse, Sue? Sue: It’s £1.50 pence. It’s quite cheap. Mother: Yes, but it’s poor quality. Mother: How much does that funny hat cost? Sue: It costs £3.18 pence. Mother: It’s not too expensive, but I could never wear a hat like that! Sue: Look at that lovely fur coat, mum. Mother: It’s beautiful, Sue. It’s made of mink. Sue: But look at the price. It costs £1250. Mother: It’s very expensive indeed! Mother: We can’t afford to go shopping, Sue. Shopping’s expensive. Sue: But window-shopping is free, mum!
