 Without the nearby Long Burrows added to the map, this is how the area looked, 6000 years ago. The arrival of the Neolithic culture from Europe, reaffirms the landscape’s sacred status. Stonehenge is a unique landscape. It capsulates how early societies related to the landscape that belief systems prevailed everyday life, how ritual and religion were so important to them. We see it in Stonehenge rather extreme manner, but nonetheless it demonstrates just how important the position the earlier communities had with the landscape around them. As well as Long Burrows, another typical Neolithic structure known as Causewayed Enclosure appeared for the first time in the Stonehenge area 5600 years ago. Four and half kilometers to the northwest, faint scars on the grassland hinted its original shape. This is rather**. It’s beautiful from this side. This is one of the earlier Neolithic monuments built in this landscape.
