Team China has once-again dominated the finals at the badminton world championships, taking home the world championships in men's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. Chen Long has defended his world title, dumping Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei in straight sets, 21-14, 21-17 in the final.
"I am really happy to be able to defend my title. It has been very difficult for China's men's singles as we failed to win titles for a long time. I played very well today and I am happy to be the champion here."
Lee Chong-wei, who was competing as an unseeded player after returning from an eight-month doping ban, has finished runner-up in four consecutive world championships.
In women's singles, Carolina Marin of Spain has raised the trophy for the second consecutive year after beating India's Saina Nehwal in the final.
