April 10th 1998 - in Northern Ireland, peace talks conclude with a landmark deal aimed at ending 30 years of a bitter rival reason bloody attacks. Negotiators sign The Good Friday Agreement, calling for power-sharing between Protestants and Catholics in the troubled region. 1912 - the Titanic sets sail from Southampton England on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. That journey ends in tragedy just days later when the British luxury liner sinks after hitting an iceberg.
1925 - F. Scott Fitzgerald, the Great Gatsby, the novel about the American dream during the warring 20th is first published.
