June 10th, 1967. In the Mideast, the Six-Day War between Israel and its Arab neighbors ends with a cease-fire mediated by the United Nations. During the war, Israel seized the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank including East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights. 1999. In Europe, Yugoslav troops leave the province of Kosovo, prompting NATO to suspend its punishing air strikes after 78 days. 1935.
Alcoholics Anonymous --- the voluntary support group for recovering alcoholics --- is founded in Akron, Ohio.
