This is AP News Minute. 1. The UN General Assembly opens in New York. President Barack Obama spoke earlier on Monday and he is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. 2. Mars just got more interesting. That’s according to NASA. The agency announced on Monday that salty water flows on the red planet in the summer and then disappears in the fall. The discovery raises more questions whether there is life on Mars. 3. Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump introduces his tax plan. He says he’d delimit taxes for some low-earning Americans and decrease them for the highest income earners. But he says he’ll also cut most reductions that benefit the wealthy. 4. In Florida, a monkey got wild. Zeek escaped his owner’s home in Stanford and was reported to be stealing mail on a meal box and eating it. He then jumped up on a police car and pulled off some molding as they came to check. But he was eventually caught. |
