A US airman who helped thwart a French train attack is in a California hospital after being stabbed in Sacramento. An Air Force spokesman said the airman first-class Spencer Stone is in stable condition and that the attack was being handled by local law enforcement. 3. Volkswagen’s top US executive has apologized for the emission related scandal engulfing the automaker. Volkswagen American CEO Michael Horn told a House subcommittee his company’s admission of rigging diesel cars to bypass emission test was ‘deeply troubling’.
