【英语时差8,16】英伦青年登陆台北铁马环球挑战(在线收听

After 10 months of cycling and traveling by other means 14,000 kilometers halfway across the world, two young British men completed their incredible challenge last month with a climb to the top of the tallest building in the world-Taipei 101.

The men, Duncan Hills, 26 and Jonathan Churcher, 24, were greeted at the finish line on the 91st floor of the 509.2-meter skyscraper in Taipei City by their families and Michael Reilly, director of the British Trade and Cultural Office.
The two friends undertook the challenge as a personal adventure that started with a one-pound bet between them. They also managed in the process to raise 2,000 British pounds for charity.
Hills and Churcher said the most unforgettable part of the whole journey was definitely the climb up 2,046 steps to the top of Taipei 101.
"Taiwanese people couldn't be more hospitable. Thank you Taiwan," the excited Hills and Churcher said at the outdoor observatory of Taipei 101, after climbing for about 30 minutes on the final leg of their adventure.
There was champagne, laughter and tears, and the mothers of the two men finally got to hug their sons for the first time in 10 months after the two men left the UK on July 28, 2007.
