At least 5 people died after a whale watching boat accident off Canada's west coast. The vessel sank off Vancouver Island on Sunday afternoon sending 27 people into the water. A total of 21 people were rescued, one person remains missing.
Pakistanian officials say the death toll from an Afghan earthquake has risen to 145. Roadways across the region were cracked by the 7.5 magnitude earthquake, shaking buildings from Kabul to Delhi.
And World Health Organization's cancer agency says processed meats like ham and sausage can lead to colon and other cancers, and red meat is probably cancer-causing as well. Meat industry groups protest the classification, arguing that cancer is not caused by specific foods, but several factors.
