Taking a look at the satellite. And a high in the bite is keeping skies mostly clear over South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales, well sending cool winds and the odd shower over Tasmania. A series of troughs over Western Australia are causing showers and storms.

 

Around the country, in Queensland, hot and dry in the west. Mild and humid in the east. Showers and storms over the central and eastern areas. 

 

Hot in the west of New South Wales. Cooler along the coast. Isolated showers and storms along the ranges. 

 

It will be mostly dry throughout Victoria. Generally clear skies throughout the day. 

 

In Tasmania, gusty winds, particularly about the south. Mostly sunny and dry throughout. 

 

Very hot in the north and west of South Australia. There will be some isolated thundery showers over the west.

 

In Western Australia, widespread thundery showers. It will be hot throughout with gusty winds inland. 

 

Isolated showers and storms in western and northern parts of the Northern Territory. It will be very hot throughout. 

 

And looking ahead to tomorrow’s forecast for the capital cities, mostly sunny in Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra. Cloud clearing in Melbourne. Partly cloudy in Hobart and Perth. A very hot and partly cloudy day for Adelaide. And possible showers and storms in Darwin.
