1. Pope Francis greeted thousands of faithful in the Mexican county of San Cristobal De Las Casas on Monday, to celebrate a mass aimed at the country's indigenous people. Francis waved to crowds, kissed babies and blessed followers along the way. 2. The international aid group "Doctors without borders" is condemning a bombing in a makeshift clinic in Syria. They say the hospital was hit 4 times in at least 2 attacks that were minutes apart. Reports say that at least 7 people were killed and at least 8 others were reported missing or presumed dead.
3. Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert arrived at the prison where he is set to begin serving 19-months sentence for bribery and obstruction of justice. Olmert is the first Israeli prime minister to serve time in prison.
4. And the fresh coat of snow blanketed the D.C region on Monday, a day after much of the northeastern United States experienced recorded cold. Much of the east is now seeing snow. One to several inches is forecast for the nation's capital. |
