Suspected tornadoes touched down in northwest Florida on Monday. The storms destroyed more than a dozen homes and damaged a school in Mississippi while classes were in session.

 

Authorities in south Texas say a fire and explosion at a gas plant left 2 workers injuried. Authorities southwest of San Antonio don't know what caused the explosion which shut down parts of 2 highways for several hours.

 

And people in North Korea are marking the 74th birthday of late president Kim John Il. North Koreans are laying flowers at statues of the former leader and his predecessor Kim Il-Sung.
