China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has said the country’s industry had a good start to 2016. During a press conference, ministry spokesman Zheng Lixin said key indicators show improvement.

In this year’s first quarter, China's industrial output rose 5.8 percent compared with the same period of last year. Industrial profits jumped 7.4 percent, a decisive change from a 2.3 percent drop booked for the entire 2015. The decline of producer prices slowed in March compared with the first two months.

Also the manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index returned above 50 in March since last August, indicating expansion. Incentives have demonstrated their effects in supporting the growth in investment and consumption.
