This is AP news minute. 1. Donald Trump's running mate governor Mike Pense is standing by his refusal to describe white supremacist David Duke as deplorable. Pense was asked whether he wanted to amend an earlier statement in which he denounced Duke, but declined to call him deplorable. Hilary Clinton has used the term "basket of deplorables" to describe half of Trump's supporters. 2. Meanwhile, president Obama stumped for Hilary Clinton in Philadelphia, where he amounted a vigorous defense in her campaign's transparency, and her fitness for the presidency. Obama called the Democratic nominee "Steady and true". 3. Cat lovers in need of a pick-me-up may start gravitating towards London's Clapham Common Tube stations. All the station's usual advertisements have been taken down, replaced by 68 oversize portraits of cats. The crowd-funded venture features stray cats from two rescue charities. 4. And an Italian land artists has used his art to send his greetings to Hillary Clinton. Dario Gambarin used his tractor to plow out a huge work of art, depicting Clinton together with the slogan "you must, you can".The unique portrait took about 8 hours to create.
