This is AP news minute. 1. Charlotte police chief says he plans to show video of an officer shooting a black man to slammed man's family, but the video couldn't be immediately released to the public. He said during a news conference Thursday that the video does not definitively show 43-year old Keith Lamont Scott pointing a gun at anyone. 2. Donald Trump says drugs are playing a major role in the protests rocking Charlotte following a police shooting, but didn't elaborate on what he meant. He said Americans honor the right peacefully assemble, but that is "No right to engage in violent disruptions or to threaten the public safety and peace of others". 3. Newly released security footage from a restaurant in Manhattan, Chelsea neighborhood shows bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami pulling two suitcases, just few feet away from where one of the bombs exploded. 4. President Barack Obama awarded this year's national medal of arts and humanities Thursday morning in the East Room at the White House.
