This is AP news minute. 1. Former Israeli president and prime minister Shimon Peres has died at the age of 93. He was hospitalized two weeks ago after a stroke. Peres has been part of Israeli politics almost since the country was founded, and was co-owner of the 1994 Nobel peace prize for his role in Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. 2. A peaceful protest was held in El Cajon, California after the police shot and killed the black man. Police say the man acted radically, pulled an object from his pocket and pointed it at officers. Police acknowledged it was not a weapon. 3. A wildfire in central California Santa Cruz mountains is threatening several hundreds structures. The fire has burned at least 1.5 square miles of rugged brush and terrain. 4.
