You Do Know Jack

OPHIRA EISENBERG, HOST:

Now it's time to crown our big winner. Let's bring back our finalists Mary and Joey.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: Puzzle guru Art Chung, take it away.

ART CHUNG: Mary and Joey, your final round is called, You Do Know Jack. In this round, every correct answer will contain the name Jack. For example, if I said, a person who cuts down trees, you'd answer, he's a lumberjack and be OK. We're playing this round like a penalty shootout. You'll each get up to eight rapid-fire questions and we'll alternate back and forth. The contestant who scores the most points will be our big winner. Your prize will be an ASK ME ANOTHER Rubik's Cube and a tote bag of power swag, including the first two seasons on DVD. We flipped a coin backstage and Joey is going first. Joey - snack food in the song "Take Me Out To The Ballgame."

JOEY GUTMANN: Crackerjack.

CHUNG: Correct. Mary - a pumpkin with holes cut in it to look like a face.

MARY REZENDES: Jack-o'-lantern.

CHUNG: And correct. Joey - a garment used by escape artists such as Houdini.

GUTMANN: A straightjacket.

CHUNG: That's right. Mary - in the Christmas song, a wintery sprite who's nipping at your nose.

REZENDES: Jack Frost.

CHUNG: True. Joey - it's another word for a pancake.

GUTMANN: Flapjack.

CHUNG: You got it. Mary - the MTV series that kick-started the career of Johnny Knoxville.

REZENDES: "Jackass."

CHUNG: True. Joey - on TV's "Frasier," Eddie is this type of hunting dog breed.

GUTMANN: Jack Russell Terrier.

CHUNG: That is correct. Mary - it's the fairy tale of a boy who climbs a plant and steals gold.

REZENDES: "Jack And The Beanstalk."

CHUNG: Correct. We're halfway through our questions and the score is tied. Joey - it's a folding blade or type of dive.

GUTMANN: Jackknife.

CHUNG: Correct. Mary - a mild pale cheese named after the county in California where it originated. Three seconds.

(SOUNDBITE OF BUZZER)

CHUNG: I'm sorry. We were looking for Monterey Jack. Joey - it's a Netflix animated comedy starring Will Arnett.

GUTMANN: "BoJack Horseman."

CHUNG: That is also correct. Mary - it's a mythical animal that looks like a rabbit with horns.

REZENDES: A jackalope.

CHUNG: Yep. Joey - it's a 2003 comedy about a marsupial who hopped away with 50 grand.

GUTMANN: Kangaroo Jack.

CHUNG: That's true. OK, here's the situation. Joey's in the lead 7 to 5. Mary, if you get any of your remaining questions wrong or Joey gets any of his correct, Joey wins the game. Mary - it's an edible plant that stinks but tastes great.

JONATHAN COULTON: Three seconds.

(SOUNDBITE OF BUZZER)

CHUNG: I'm sorry, the answer we were looking for was jackfruit. That means Joey is our big winner.
