This is AP news minute. 1. With eight days left before election day, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are stepping up their efforts to secure the swing states. The democratic nominee is in Ohio, looking to shift the election to a referendum on Trump's credentials and temperament. While trump is making two stops in Michigan, seizing on the ongoing issue of Clinton's private email server. 2. White House spokesman Josh Earnest says he will neither defend nor criticize FBI director James Comey. This comes after Comey's decision Friday to disclose that FBI is looking into newly discovered emails that may be important in an their earlier investigation of Hillary Clinton's email server. 3. Italy firefighters released video, showing ongoing rescue operations near the epicenter of last weekend's 6.6 magnitude earthquake. Bulldozers were deployed throughout the town along with rescue dogs to look for potential survivors. So far, Sunday morning's quake causes no deaths or serious injuries. 4. And the president and Mrs.Obama welcomed trick or treat to the White House Monday afternoon. The annual event is for local children and children of military families.
