报纸互联网广告合作互利互存(在线收听

The newspaper industry has worried about increasing competition from internet companies for classified advertising, or local advertising by individual people for jobs and items for sale. A group of seven US newspaper chains representing 176 daily newspapers has made a deal with online portal Yahoo to share content and advertising revenue. Newspaper ads for job openings will appear on the HotJobs web site, which was acquired by Yahoo in 2001, and Yahoo will provide contents and search technology for the newspapers' own web sites. Yahoo made the news recently when a top executive published a memo known as the "Peanut Butter Manifesto," which accused the company of spreading their resources too thinly; the newspaper deal shows that catching up with Google's advertising revenue figures is a priority for Yahoo.
