C:     Look at that scratch. I’ll have to get that sorted out when they’re up in London.

H:     You can hardly see it.

C:     Well, I’ll know it’s there.

H:     Are you all right now? Only you seemed a little upset earlier.

C:     Yeah. I’m sorry about that. I’m just…I’m a bit tired.

H:     And no wonder. Did the dinner go well?

C:     Oh, well enough. Although they won’t make a match between them  if that’s what they’re thinking.

H:     Lady Mary doesn’t like him?

C:     And why should she like the man she’s been passed over for? And why has she been? That’s what I’d like to know.

H:     It’s the law.
