This is AP news minute. 1. The senate confirms Betsy DeVos as education secretary, with the tie-breaking note from vice president Mike Pence. It's the first time a vice president has had to break the tie for a cabinet nominee. The senate was split 50-50. 2. The national weather service says several tornadoes touches down in southern Louisiana, damaging buildings, smashing power lines and causing a number of injures. Officials say one of the tornadoes touch down in eastern part of New Orleans. 3. Snow, rain and wind didn't stop Boston from celebrating. The new England Patriots paraded through the city on duck boats, following their 5th Superbowl victory. 4. Vacation in the British Virgin islands, former president Barack Obama took up a new sport. His host, Virgin group founder Richard branson posted the images of the ex-president's kitesurfing. Branson said Obama beat him in the water sport challenge.
