This is AP news minute. 

1. Speaking to a meeting of the nation governors, president Donald Trump said his first budget will focus on public safety and national security with a roughly $54 billion increase in the defense spending. Trump also warned the nation's health-care system as a danger of imploding. 

2. A suburban Philadelphia judge has ruled that a juror from outside the area will hear the sexual assault case against actor Bill Cosby. Cosby is set to go on trial June,5th on accusations that he drugged and molested a former Temple university employee at his home in 2004. 

3. Iraqi federal police unit pushed deeper into western Mosul on Monday, getting control a neighborhood near the Tigris river. An Iraqi official said IS militants were fighting back with snipers, anti-tank missiles and suicide car bombs, describing the clashes as fierce. 

4. And a 6-week old otter pup is receiving around-the-clock care in the UK animal welfare charity, after being orphaned following a storm. The pup who has been named Daffi was found without his mother at the side of the river, following storm Doris which hit UK last week.
